Rigas Bende freeski team was established in January 2010 and rapidly became well known all across Latvia. Started out as a group of skiers who used to hang out in streets looking for snow and perfect spots to do some new tricks. Karlis story: "One evening I, Reinis, Pauls and Edis were sitting at my place after skiing in Zagarkalns, drinking some beer, I had to take guys to bus station and on the way we decided to make this kind of a team. Our only goal was to think of a really great name of the team, so it would sound really serious - so we came up with Rigas Bende, which means Riga's Executioners." Rigas Bende has 4 members and so far there are no further plans for attracting more. After established Rigas Bende team continued to take podiums in each competition they attended and soon everybody in Latvia understood, that there is nothing that could stop those guys from winning, but it was not only about winning - Rigas Bende started to act serious - we were spending more time on the skis than sleeping and soon Rigas Bende was noticed by several magazines, news agencies and sports photographers.

Rigas Bende has a great cooperation and friendship with the best Latvia's extreme sports photographer Juris Zarins, who is also a skier. Juris can spend all night taking photos in freezing temperatures just to get the perfect shot.
